We’ve Had A Makeover!

You may have already noticed that the site looks very different to how it did previously. We’ve rolled out a series of style updates and functional improvements to 8Realms, ditching the default-looking style that we launched with and introducing a new overall style. This matches our growing functionality and status, reflecting that 8Realms is no longer an experiment and now a firm feature of the UK Age of Sigmar competitive community. Here’s a quick rundown of what’s new:

Dark-and-Orange Color Scheme

One of the first things you’ll notice is our revamped dark-and-orange palette. We wanted a look that felt sleek, contemporary, and easier on the eyes—especially for users browsing in low-light environments. This combination of deep backgrounds and vivid orange accents gives us a regosnisable style that we will take forward in all of our future branding.

Improved Table Design

Tables are central to 8Realms, whether you’re checking out player rankings, event results, or match histories. We’ve refined the design of these tables for a much better overall experience. Gone are the heavy borders, which have been replaced with subtle banding and rounded corners for a clean, modern aesthetic.

For a player’s detailed match history, we introduced a brand new table design specifically for mobile users. It reorganises event names and details to fit snugly on smaller screens. You’ll still get all the stats you need, but in a simplified layout that’s easier to navigate on the go.

The big player metrics are now more prominent, showcasing the achievements and identity of a player. Other tables such as faction rankings cram a lot of detail onto one page, and we have created collapsible versions of these as well.

Easier Linking and Page Navigation

We’ve added clearer, more convenient links throughout the site to make it simpler to move between key sections, taking advantage of having more than two colours in the palette now. Anywhere you see a player’s name, you can click it to jump directly to their profile. Our faction icons (compressed for faster loading) now link to the Faction Rankings page, helping you explore related players and statistics. Events are cross-linked so you can quickly find their associated matches and results. And when you click on a player’s key metric cards on their page, it returns you to the UK ranking to carry on browsing.

Improved Responsive Design

(Hopefully) we’ve made it much easier to browse on mobile, which we know many players do by default. Whether you’re using an ultrawide monitor or a smartphone, 8Realms now adjusts to fit your display. Text and spacing scale down elegantly on smaller screens, so no more pinching or zooming (unless you want to, in which case you can). Although it shouldn’t be needed, horizontal scrolling is now available on tables when space is tight, keeping data accessible on the smallest of screens. And overall, layouts have been condensed and streamlined for easier viewing on mobile.

Together, these changes are a complete overhaul of the 8Realms site which matches our growing status within the community. We hope you enjoy using it as much as we enjoyed making it!
