As promised, the big updates to 8Realms just keep on coming. Our philosophy is to focus on individual player experience, so to complement other options available to the community we are prioritising player profiles and personal stats.
Alongside our design improvements (have you noticed?), we’ve added a suite of new player stats, and a new faction podium for players, to showcase each player’s unique competitive profile.
New Player Stats
Our new player stats add three key metrics that reveal more about your match history:
Best Record – This stat identifies the event in which you achieved your best win/draw/loss ratio. We calculate a score for each event (using wins plus half the draws), and your Best Record displays the event with the highest score. It’s a quick snapshot of your peak performance on a given day.
Best Matchup – Ever wondered which opponent faction you dominate? The Best Matchup stat shows the faction you’ve beaten most often. In the event of a tie, the most recent win tips the balance. Now you can see where your strengths lie when facing specific foes.
Nemesis – Your nemesis is the opponent you’ve faced the most. This stat spotlights the rival you’ve encountered repeatedly over time, highlighting ongoing battles and long-standing rivalries. You would be surprised how few players have repeatedly faced the same opponents in competitive events (which is probably a good thing), but as you attend more events you will now be able to proudly show off that opponent who you just can’t seem to shake.
The Faction Podium Feature
Although the Preferred Faction works for some players, much of the community has a heavy rotation, or simply brings a new faction to every event. To showcase this, we’ve introduced a new podium-style display of the factions you’ve played. This provides a visual statement of your faction identity within the community.
The faction(s) you’ve played most often take center stage, with their icons displayed in a larger size. If there’s a tie for most played, both (or all) tied factions share the center space. All other factions you’ve represented appear around the outside at a smaller size, marking the diverse faction representation that some players have.
A Personalised Experience
With these enhancements, 8Realms acts as more than just a ranking list, and offers a more comprehensive portrait of your competitive journey. Whether you’re checking out your Best Record after a big win, discovering your dominant matchup, or sizing up your nemesis, these new stats provide instant, visual insights into your performance. And with the new faction podium, your profile now tells a richer story at a glance, showcasing your experience across different armies in a stylish, modern layout.
